Hi everyone!
I'm reposting this in the hopes that in this thread and section, I will actually receive some comments lol. I had not received anything last time, just views. Anyway, I was recently accepted into LIUs accelerated nursing program which starts this Summer of 2015, and Pace's NYC accerated nursing program for Fall of 2015.
Would any past or current students please shed light on the school and nursing program? I've read many negative reviews from old threads, but I was hoping that things have changed and things are better for new-incoming nursing students.
Also, If there is any advice that former students would like to give to new in-coming students, that would be great! How did you become successful in your program, how did you study, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Hi! Yes I've graduated from Pace's 1 year accelerated program. Lots of students did fail out or switched to the two year. It was a lot of hard work but it can be done! Recently passed my boards as well and so far everyone who graduated with me (1 year and 2 year students) have passed their boards.
Hi zoeyt, I was going to apply to Pace Accelerated 1 year program and I started doing some research and came across your post. I know nursing is hard no matter where you go because I was in nursing program for a year and a half and withdrew because they decided to change the curriculum and made it harder. I was also working 4 jobs at the time. I don't want to make the same mistake by going into another nursing program and hating it so I was hoping you can tell me a little more about your experience and if you made it or if you know people that ended up graduating. I also see that they want you to take a calculation exam every time before starting clinical. I never had to do that at my school. Please let me know if you can think of anything else!
sjrosenfeld91 i know this is almost a year late lol, but can you give me some insight about the nyu program and tuition/financial aid? I really like their program and campus(if its near washington square park like the regular campus). I may be able to commute but it would be an extremely far and stressful commute coming from the white plains area. If you live on campus how much is the room & board or apartments?

I was wait listed at pace and have decided to go to NYU over LIU. Ridiculously expensive, but I'm thinking of it as an investment in my future. Are you going to be graduating from the Pace ABSN?
