PA Student Loan Relief for Nurses Program

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) is now accepting applications for the PA Student Loan Relief Program for Nurses. The program is designed to provide loan relief for RNs and LPNs who provided care throughout the pandemic by utilizing $5 million of Pennsylvania's allotment of American Rescue Plan funds.

To be eligible for the program, RNs and LPNs must hold an active license to practice nursing in Pennsylvania, be a Pennsylvania resident, have worked at a qualified nursing facility, and have begun employment before December 31, 2021. (Work requirement:  1,250 hours in past calendar year. Karen)

Applications are available on PHEAA's website and will be accepted through March 1, 2022. Qualified applicants could receive $2,500 for each year of service (beginning with 2020) for up to three years, with a maximum award of up to $7,500.
