the [color=#022c7f]pennsylvania department of health announced on tuesday it had established a web site to recruit health professionals who are not employed at hospitals to volunteer in areas hit by hurricane katrina.

"the outpouring of support from health professionals who want to volunteer for hurricane katrina recovery efforts has been tremendous," department of health secretary dr. calvin johnson said. "this web site is the proper way to get volunteers where they are needed."

pennsylvania is urging pennsylvania health professionals not to show up in hurricane-stricken areas without approval and direction from the [color=#022c7f]pennsylvania emergency management agency.

health professionals and physicians who are employed by hospitals can register their interest in volunteering through the hospital & healthsystem association of pennsylvania online at [color=#022c7f]www.haponline.org.
