PA Nursing Congress Spring Meeting

The Pennsylvania Nursing Congress on Practice, Education & Policy will meet on Monday, April 27, 2015 in Harrisburg (10 am – 2 pm). The Pennsylvania Nursing Congress, the state's largest profession coalition of nursing organizations, acts as a change agent as it brings nurses of diverse specialties to the table in order to collaboratively advocate for patients and the profession.

The Pennsylvania Nursing Congress on Practice, Education, and Policy is a deliberate, planned body of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, which includes the PA Cabinet on Nursing Practice & Professional Development and nursing organizations throughout Pennsylvania who have joined PA State Nurses Association as Organizational Affiliates. Together, the Congress, the Cabinet and PA State Nurses Board of Directors establish the issues, strategic direction, goals, and strategies for nursing in the Commonwealth. The Congress is both an interdisciplinary and intradisciplinary group.

Purpose

The Congress will focus on establishing Pennsylvania nurses' approach to the state's emerging health industry trends, models of nursing practice, and the socioeconomic and political issues of the healthcare industry. The Congress provides nurse leaders in Pennsylvania an opportunity to share their expertise on the most pressing nursing issues and develop and recommend policy alternatives and interdisciplinary solution-oriented initiatives to the Pennsylvania legislature, regulatory bodies and other vested or support organizations. The Congress will facilitate concentrated networking with other nurse leaders and will drive key nursing initiatives for the state...
