P.M. Clinicals at H.F.C.C.

Hi. I have to have pm clinicals because my husband does not have the option to change his shift at his job. Can anyone give me any details about pm clinical? What time do they usually start the first semester? What about after that? Is it true they are usually at the farthest site? Any info would be great!! I hate not knowing what to expect!!! I'm already scared enough....Starting this Aug 08....Wish me luck!!!:no::yeah::redbeathe

I have only pm clinicals so far. First semester we started at 4pm and went till 10-11pm at Henry Ford Hospital. The only thing we really missed was bed baths which I didn't mind. Then For 155 I was at Botsford and we went from 3pm-10ish. This semester for 150 I go to 3pm-9:30. We never really got out too early. I think like maybe once for a hard test or something but its not very common.

you mentioned med-surg. you get a preference? can you please explain this further? i think i'd like this route, but i didn't know there was a different way to go.

either the first medsurge, 155, or the second ones, 220 & 221. the most fascinating things happen during the day, it seems. but there certainly are exceptions to this. (if you prefer pm's, you usually get them. did i answer your questions correctly?

i don't like giving bedbaths either, but you have to learn sometime. if you never give them in clinical, how will you give them on the floor?

We gave partial bed baths mostly. If the pts get a little dirty during the day...so we don't never do them we just don't necessarily do them all at once or all the time.
