Overwelmed studying for the TEAS exam

Hello does anyone have any tips on what worked for them while studying for the tease exam????

Hello Vikki,

My best advice is to be familiar with the basic knowledge in biology (cell structure, organelle functions), chemistry (atom structure, identifying basic/common molecules... H2O, NaCl), very basic geology, algebra, geometry, ratios, calculating with percentages, and calculating with fractions. When it comes to english, you will be reading short stories and answering a few comprehensive/critical thinking questions; you will also need to compare words (for that you'll need to know their meanings)... again, this is all at the basic level.

I, like you, was stressing over what to study. It didn't matter who I asked for advice, every person gave me a different answer and many "prep books" to use prior to the exam. English is my second language, so I was really stressing for a while and found myself frozen over what to do... particularly because english is my second language.

One day I decided to just take the exam to see what it was like, find my weakneses, then focus on strengthening them. I didn't study since I was just completing many genenral ed classes... I just figured I'd wing it and promised myself not to get depressed if I failed miserably. To my surprise, I passed the TEAS with 89% overall score. Now, I'm not a straight "A" student, much less a genious, but I found that taking the stress out of the experience ended up paying off for me. If you can afford to take it a second time... I would suggest you to do the same.

Good luck! Come back to this post after you take the test... let us know how it went. :)

Just saw your other post... sorry you didn't pass. Do not get discouraged. DO use the ATI book the others have mentioned and concentrate on you weaknesses shown on the TEAS test.

You can do it!!

Order The TEAS V book and the practice tests on the ATI website, study your weakest points. Then take one of the practice exams. It will tell you what you need to study and even give you the page numbers.... I studied everything over and over until i knew all of it. passed with advanced scores. Hope this helps=) this book and practice exams really helped me, i didnt pass the first time i took it but after i learned about the book and practice tests i passed with flying colors. Good luck
