with high hopes of starting ECPI this coming January...I was hoping to maybe get an idea of what would happen.Im sure all schools,,states,,,programs vary somewhat..so Im just trying to get a very general idea of it

Does anyone with LPN school sxperience know what classes I MAY be taking?

I know i will get all this from the instructors...but even a tiny jump ahead will help me

also,,,if you remember books too,...i may try and see if my library has a few

its been forever since ive been to school and I dont want to be too rusty

Specializes in Geriatrics.

I am in an 11 month program full time. I am in my last half & I have about 4 1/2 months left! Quick overview of what my program did:

First 4 1/2 months was:

A&P

Fundamentals of nursing

nutrition

pharmacology (basics, math)

Nursing history

Nursing law

2nd half

OB

Psych

3rd half

med surg 1 & 2

pediatrics

pharmacology (drugs & math)

My advice to you is to just practice your math equivalencies (tablespooons, grams, drops, grains). The book I used was Math for meds that really helped me. I suggest just spending time with your family & friends now because you won't have much time during the school year. There isn't much to study up on unless you have time to take an a&p class that might help. Good luck & use lots of notecards they are cheap :)

THANK YOU A BILLIONS TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!:yeah:

my classes where also about the same, just not in that order...yes you will need to know conversions such as grains, grams,mg,mcg ect. other than that study hard,be prepared...make sure when you are studying to know your stuff.

i am also im an fast pace program, just not at ecpi.but kind of the same style of learning.it is fast pace and you have to be dedicated.i am in a 14 month program and i am now in med surg 2 class and med surg 2 clinicals.i have 6 months left.its hard at times, especially if you have a family.but it is worth it,and it goes by so fast.good luck

and yes i also agree with the previous post, spend alot of time with your family...you will have to study alot and wont have time for much else
