Out of State RN wanting to relocate to Henderson, NV

U.S.A. Nevada

My boyfriend may be attending Touro U for the DO program, and I went with him to check the school out. Henderson seemed like a very pleasant place to live, so I wanted more input from you guys about the RN job market.

I currently have a license in CA, but have been unsuccessful in finding hospital work here. I've been looking for the past 2.5 years... but it's a rough market in CA. Would you guys recommend being in NV for work?

ElectricHuman,

Henderson is a very nice place to live. It's unfortunate that you have been out of work for so long. I am a new grad here in Las Vegas/Henderson, and the job market is pretty tough. As with most places, it's all about who you know. However, it is very possible to obtain a job as a new grad otherwise. The biggest thing is that it takes a lot of time and patience.

If its possible for you to move elsewhere, I would highly recommend it. If Vegas is your only option, be prepared to wait a little while. Some new grad programs pop up here and there. Good luck!

Exactly. Patience grasshopper.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I should have known! Henderson was really lovely... I guess I'll keep trying in other states as well.
