I am done with fall semester! Now I am getting ready for LVN school in Texas, but I do not want to be rusty when school start. So on that note, what can I do before starting LVN school?

Welcome to Allnurses! I guess you could try to find out what texts you will be using, and start reading some. I remember beginning nursing school, it was so exciting!!! Hope you have a great time!
Well yes and no! I have a list of book to get but we can't buy them at our bookstore until two weeks before classes start. So now I am trying to see if there are some websites or books I can read to get a jumpstart.

I would suggest studying fundamentals of nursing and pharmacology. Those are typical starter classes. You can find plenty of free stuff on the internet to help you prep for those courses. Look up CNA skills on you tube and practice those if you are not familiar because those are skills that you will get checked off on during your first semester (most likely, some programs are different!)
Hope that helps you hun...oh and dont forget to brush up on your A&P. You will need to be real strong in that when you get to Med/Surg.

I think you should study fundamentals, fundamental was the hardest class for me, it's basic cna stuff but it was a lot of info, read read read, so that when you start class you can just review with your power points and study guides
Thank u!
