So our CNO wants us to ask the tough questions to our coworker about why he wants to be the department manager.
This coworker mind you has only worked for us for a few months, is big on mox( like internal email)ing adminstration about anything anyone says, always feels that he needs to justify his actions and does not like it when people question him. Some of his current suggestions for hospital improvement is ( over the intercom mind you) TAPS when people die, Happy Birthday when a birth happens and prayer everynight when we lock the doors. He was run off his last job for imposing his religious beliefs on the staff.
Needless to say we don't want him to take the job, no matter how thankless it is. Any suggestions for interview questions?
If he doesn't like people questioning the things he does-start the questions about his action/behaviors. Start a barage of these type of questions, specific to things he has done or not done & watch to see how defensive or angry he gets. His true colors may show and he may lose out on the job he seeks. If you keep the questions generalized, he gets the opportunity to say what you may want to hear, rather than what he really thinks. Think of it as in intervention
