Hey everyone! I didn't see a thread about this yet and I am sorry if there already is one. I was wondering if anyone else is anxiously waiting to hear back about OU's traditional fall program. Last I heard, they would be sending out the decision either the end of March or the beginning of April. Anyone hear anything else? Thanks!
Carolina, I almost did the same thing.... What is your first name? Mine is Brianna I have lots of long curly red hair and sat on the left side. I looked for Caroline, but didn't see anyone. K_C I couldn't even begin to guess at your name... I am confused on whether to get ebooks or textbooks too, I really like regular books, so I am undecided.
Hey, everyone! Congrats on getting accepted! I just graduated in May from OU CoN (OKC) with my BSN. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)
Thank you! Congrats on graduating! I will probably be taking you up on your offer soon :)
Do you have any recommendations on a student planner? Or tips to keep things organized? Did you use the etextbook packages?
Brianna, my name is Blair. I just tried to pick a random username and that was the best I could come up with :)
I sat in the front, and had a red shirt on. I think I remember seeing someone with lots of curly hair...did you have an animal print shirt on or something similar? Weird question I know, there was just a girl that asked for the set of scrubs I had after I tried them on and I remember her having curly hair. Thought it would be funny if that was you.
As far as the textbooks go, I think the seniors sold me on the etextbook package. I have always loved having the actual textbook to look at for classes, but the thought of having to keep up with almost 20 books seems a little overwhelming! I figure if there ends up being a book or two that I really want to have the actual textbook for, I can purchase or rent those when needed. Hopefully I won't regret the etextbook package!

Thank you! I actually customized my schedule using Microsoft Excel. It made it really easy for me to color code things and if I needed to change any class times or anything it was a lot easier than either scribbling through what I'd already written down or erasing it. They send out schedules, but they're in different formats pretty much every semester, and have other clinical groups' information that doesn't apply to you. They can get pretty confusing. The program isn't really known for being organized, which could be really frustrating sometimes. Lol. If you'd like, I'll email you one or two of my schedules just so you could see how I laid things out!
I liked using actual textbooks. Staring at a screen for a long time hurts my eyes. It also helped me not have to worry about having my computer charged, internet connection, temptation of getting on other websites, etc.
do you think that getting a text book one edition earlier would make much of a difference? In any other class I have never had a problem. I just wanted to see if it was the same for nursing textbooks. I feel like a lot should not change from one edition to another other than page numbers and a couple of pictures.

That would be great, thanks! Are you able to send it in a pm here, or would you need my actual email?
And those are things I didn't think about by using the etext. I go back and forth trying to figure out what to do, but looking at ordering all of the books gets overwhelming and I end up going back to choosing the etext.

I think it would depend on the book/subject. I wonder if there's a way to see what changes were made and if any info was added?

I think I need your actual email to send them to! Yeah, if I were you I would just try to buy like a few a day. Amazon is a good place to get them from, especially if you have Prime.
In regards to getting an older edition, no, I really don't think it would make a difference. They do not find a lot of new information between the editions that necessitates them coming out with a new one, they just want more money. Almost all of the professors will have the pages listed for the newest edition and the previous edition in the modules.

I was tempted to start asking around to find out who was on here, but decided that would be slightly awkward
