OU 2021 TRADITIONAL BSN

Hi everyone,

I am a pre-nursing student at the University of Oklahoma. I plan on submitting my nursing app in December. I was curious if there is anyone else out there that will be applying this round? Also curious about people’s stats. 

Oh that’s good to know! I have been checking the supplemental application since it has the “status” bar. I will be checking nursingcas more often! I asked them a couple weeks ago what GPA was considered competitive. They said on average the GPA of those who are accepted is in the 3.4-3.5 range! I know they look heavily on the science GPA. I have a 4.0 for science (I’m taking my last science class this semester, Chemistry). So hopefully it stays at the 4.0 or close to! LOL. 
My cumulative GPA is 3.53. I’m just hoping that’s good enough!

Yours sounds pretty competitive, especially your science! Since they used the cumulative GPA, mine is not so good (3.3) However I’m hoping that because all of my prerequisites done that helps???. OU was my 1st choice but I’ve applied to a few other programs as well. I’ll just be glad as long as I get in a program where I can start in the fall. And yes, I’ll definitely keep in touch. I was so caught up looking at past posts trying to get info LOL

LOL! You sound like myself! I read a post I think it was last years post about someone getting accepted with like a 2.8 cumulative. I think they were initially waitlisted but then ended up getting accepted so that made me feel pretty good, haha. Oh I’m sure with you having all your pre-reqs done, they will LOVE that! I’m take my last semester of pre reqs this semester. Chem, Spanish 2, Intro to Indian music, and Stats. So far the classes are going well. If I can just maintain, I think I will be set. I just hope it doesn’t hurt me that I have pretty much a full semester. 
where else have you applied!? Are you a current OU student? I want to apply different places but I’m super anxious to hear if I’m in at OU or not. Haha.

I read that post as well! It also makes me feel like there's still hope if I do end up getting waitlisted. I did pre-nursing at TCC and applied to RSU, Langston, and will probably apply to TCC if I don't get in OU or any of those. Are your classes all online? Good thing you've got your science courses done and like you said, now you can just maintain the classes your currently taking. I took anatomy and physiology online last semester and it was kinda difficult since they had lab components.  I hoped for A's to boost my GPA but ended up getting B's.

Yes, after reading that, I have hope. LOL. Ahh, I see!! My classes are all online. In fact, I only had two classes face to face during my time at OU. After the covid hit, I think online is the best option for now. I took a & p 1 and 2 online as well. It is definitely difficult when trying to do labs. Actually, all my sciences classes have been online with labs. Not exactly ideal but thankfully we can easily adjust in such an uncertain and weird time in the world! Hey, B’s aren’t bad! You got this! I really hope we find out soon. I’m going crazy!

I didn't realize you went to OU! I know you said most of your classes have been online but how have you liked it so far? And I was thinking the weather may have delayed responses only because I didn't feel like they would be meeting up in the weather we had. But IDK, LOL I was just trying to justify why I haven't heard ?

Thanks! I have heard that they go to the waitlist often because people drop or they didn’t get their first choice. Don’t be discouraged!! ?
