Hi guys! Interviews started today for the May 2011 cohort, and I think I was one of the first few to interview. I know we can't talk about specific questions that were asked during the interview, but I just wanted to see if anyone would like to share their reactions/experience here.
I personally felt pretty good, I did get one "I love your answer!" so that made me feel a little more secure:D since I felt like I stumbled on this one other question. I did feel a little rushed since they told me the interview would be super short right in the beginning (did anyone else feel that way?) I didn't get a clear answer on where we will be having clinicals/classes though....
I'm sure it will be another month after interviews end until we all get mailed acceptance letters.
Any thoughts you would like to share?.....
Well, I got the same news today! It sure does look like they waited to send out rejections. I am checking into reapplying right away. However, I am confused at the new requirements because it looks like I may need to retake a basic math class I took at MSU 15 years ago because I got a 3.0. Seriously? The new requirements say you need a 3.2. Anyway, I am also looking at UofM Flint. Ann Arbor is too far from me. I am so sorry that we all got this news, but I hope nobody gives up on this. I knew the second that I walked into the interview that the outcome was not going to be good. Congratulations again to those that got in and good luck to everyone!
Jon2000, thanks for the info regarding reapplying. I will email an advisor as well to see if anything has changed. Actually, I didn't feel good about my interview from the start. The interviewer was late and another candidate was waiting so I felt rushed. And the lady I had wasn't not friendly at all. I did good in all the pre-reqs and I thought my essay was good as well so I don't know.
I have looked into U of M's program and EMU's, because both seem to require most of the same pre-req's as OU.
I not sure what was the criteria this time around for OU and wonders who actuallly got in for May 2011. Anyway, I hope everyone else continues to search and apply to other programs.
Good Luck to us all:)
Here is a link to the new requirements. It sounds like the revised application will be available Sept. 1st.

Please post if you find out any additional info. regarding reapplying and I will do the same.
in an email i got awhile ago it said if your pre reqs were not done by sept first you had to follow the 3.2 gpa. did anyone else get that? so since our pre recqs are done we shouldnt have to redo anything. i also dont understand rolling admission. i have not gotten anything in the mail yet.
you know what sucks for me... i took the A&P combined at OU for 5 credits which isn't accepted anywhere else! plus the microbiology i took is w/o lab so that's another class i would have to retake.
also, it seems as though everyone felt RUSHED through their interview... who's all in for emailing the advisor (who is still working there by the way b/c she responded to my email) about how the interview process was very haphazard?!
i think if enough people voice their concern, it will make a difference. i mean we work for years to get our pre-reqs done and wait for this pinnacle moment, and they end up making us feel like they have better things to do with their time?! it's absurd!!
who's with me?
Bronzemint,
I think that's good idea. Actually, I was thinking of saying something about that anyway. Because the other people who have applied previous semesters didn't have the same type of interviews. They had more time and more people conducting the interview. I wonder is this gonna be there normal process or was this something out of the ordinary to pick 1 or 2 students.
I too felt so rushed. I felt like the interview was over before it even began. In my letter (as I'm sure it said in yours too), it said that we have to reapply to the Accelerated Second Degree Program. This may be a stupid question, but they meant we just have to reapply to the nursing school, right? I'm am currently enrolled in classes (obviously not nursing classes) there and just want to make sure that I don't have to redo everything. Also, do we need to resend our transcripts? Or can we request that they be kept on file? I called today and ended up having to leave a message. No one has gotten back to me yet.

Hi guys,
Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse anyone about the OU re-applying process. I can't remember where I saw 6 months, but it is quite possible I am thinking of another program. Lord knows I've applied to many of them! For those that are looking for similar programs, U of M has one with similar prerequisites and so does EMU. U of M has rolling admissions while EMU is a once a year application date of May 15. I would love to apply to OU again right away, so I will think about it. :) Thanks for all your comfort and reassurance. I am just so discouraged right now.
