A batchmate checked into this last year, due to all of us having same issues with the concurrency etc. But what she found out was that if you are already a BS degree holder it can't be in the same title or category, but it's okay if unrelated. In other words, if you have a BS in art history or math or geography etc, you can go into a ABSN degree, but if you have a BSN (nursing), they will not allow you to enroll in another BSN program, as it doesn't make sense to re-take the same courses again (in the States).
She only checked with one CA college so the best thing for you to do is actually e-mail or talk to a school counselor of your choice rather than depending on the internet answers here, as maybe one school may be okay, but the one closest to you doesn't accept other BSN's. Good luck and let us know of your findings.
Why not just go for the LVN exam and then try to enroll into a LVN-RN bridge program? I say either way, if some schools will allow you in as 2nd BSN'er, it may be just as tough to get into that type of program as the ones going after the LVN-RN route.
thank you for ur response.. im confused about lvn-rn.. what if i passed the lvn and continued to rn program.. do i need a experience as an lvn first for me to continue it to rn program? and also do mind if you have ideas of some state that doesnt affected of concurrency issues? thank you so much ur a big help :))
It depends on what school you plan to attend, understand that getting into any LVN-RN program in CA is highly competitive.
As far as what state, your BEST answer is where do you plan to work and start using your RN license the minute you PASS the NCLEX-RN exam in that state? Knowing that there are several other States that are enforcing the concurrency rules, avoid those obviously. There's another thread on the 13-14 States with the concurrency issues. If you plan to stay on the west coast, so far, only OR is the last western state not yet enforcing the concurrency.
Forget about trying to find the easiest and cheapest and ones not requiring any English exams etc if the one DESIRED state you plan to settle down in still requires any and all of them in the first place, you're only wasting more time and money to do them in the first place.
Just know that trying to endorse any out of state license INTO a state that has the concurrency rules will most likely reject your application. Hopping from one state to another just means in some cases you can't avoid the things you want to avoid.
Why?
Because each state has it's own requirements and one must meet those minimum requirements with copies of their college transcripts when endorsing. It's like starting all over.
thank you so much for your help :) ur response helped me clear my mind.. still kinda confused tho what to do next.. im still waiting for CA BON reply to my application... Thank you :)

Wait and pray while you wait for the results from CA BON.
If, you get a rejection/denial from CA BON, some possible options are: Retake courses (no schools that have programs yet). LVN test and then bridge to an RN program and then go to a RN-BSN school. Retake whole nursing program (just note that for Accelerated BSN, generally, most schools require you to have a BA/BS in a different field, such as accounting, psychology, english literature, etc. They may not allow you entrance if you only have a BSN, even though it is from a different country. If you have another Bachelor's in a different field, do apply the ABSN route). Other option.
Good luck! Keep up the good positive vibes!
