I am just starting my clinicals in the fall. There are so many books to get that its overwhelming. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone can suggest any other books that they have purchased from a bookstore (other than school's bookstore)that they found useful. I've been searching Amazon.com and found a few that look interesting but I want to be sure that they are worth it since it will be additional reading. Also, I know I'm getting ahead of myself since I'm just starting the clinicals, but when is the best time to start studying for the NCLEX? I've found study software on Amazon.com. Thanks in advance for your responses!!! I love this website! :)

i just bought "fluids and electrolytes made incredibly easy "by springhouse. i find it easier to understand than anatomy books.

i hear this will a difficult subject in nursing classes and will give me the chance to get a jump on the subject.

"nursing documentation handbook' by t.m marrelli was also easy to understand and will help with careplans, assessment and charting. i frequently go to amazon.com and check out their used nursing books and i have found many good nursing books at a reasonable price.

starr, thanks for the information. i will keep these two books in mind.

i cannot recommend enough any of the care plan books by m. doegnes. these helped me out so much (and still do!) by cutting down the number of resources i needed to complete any and all care plans. they were very well received by all of my instructors.

i have the one in the above link and also the maternity and psych care plans. love them all and was worth any money i've spent on books. well worth buying at full price but amazon makes it that much better that you can get them for half. ;)

rena, thanks for the link.
