OSU grad entry 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi! Is anyone else planning to apply to Ohio State's grad entry program, 2019 start date? I am checking every day, waiting for the application to be open! I am studying for the GRE (taking it 7/28) and trying to find someone to shadow. I'll be applying to the CNM track.

Did everyone get an email? I only have my status update not an email from the nursing department.

I didn't get one yet either

I called because I originally applied for part time and decided I wanted to just go full time. She said we will get virtual admissions packets the beginning of next week. ?

Is anyone here doing the distance learning option for FNP? I was accepted into it but I live in California and am still a little unsure about if it will be too difficult to get clinical sites out of state.

@cpingrey all of the neonatal is done online. They set you up with clinicals. You tell them where and they will help you.

Hi everyone. Congrats on your acceptance to the programs. I too have been following this thread. I applied for the traditional on campus FNP program which I was accepted in to!! However, I was accepted for part-time instead of the full time that I wanted. I am super bummed about this because I have reviewed the tuition/fee schedule and it looks like (if I am calculating correctly) that that it is approx an additional $12,500 to attend part time. Not to mention a whole extra year before graduation. I was accepted into UC starting this summer for full-time. I was super ecstatic to get accepted at OSU and even paid the acceptance fee 3 days prior to receiving the email from the CON that stated I was only offered part-time. My original acceptance notification did not state that. I'm trying to decide if paying the extra $$ and taking the courses slower is worth the prestige of attending OSU or if I should just accept my offer at UC? My first choice has always been OSU but I really wanted to go at this degree full-time. Anyone have some insight for me? Thanks!!

Are you doing the traditional option then because there is no part time option for grad entry?

yes traditional

@1carmie I originally applied for part time but have decided I want to go full time. They said there isn’t a great chance but to contact the program director after the acceptance date has passed to see about switching to full time.

Yeah I also contacted them. I was told that I could petition for fulltime but would only be "approved if there is open space in the fulltime cohort, meaning students would have to withdraw from the program, or take an LOA during their designated clinical year"

This makes me wonder if everyone on the waitlist is waitlisted for only part-time. What if someone doesn't accept a full-time the offer? Does that move someone from the waitlist into full-time?
