"the ppsychiatric hospital tightened security after a veteran doctor was slain by a patient she was evaluating'
The state has urged hospital officials to tighten security including having trained officers in the emergency area. No such measures were taekn until the slaying of the doctor.
OSHA was investigating them for numerous violent assaults since 1998. The were fined 30,000 and five citations including two for failing to report two non fatal attcks on staff (both nurses)
Sad,,,,,,only a 30,000 fine.........now a doctor is dead.
Laura
The name of the hospital is the John George Psychiatric Pavillion, located in San Leandro CA.

Interesting that nothing was done after the attacks on the nurses, only after the doctor was attacked and killed.
Cannoli, you are right on. I thought I would not be cynical just this once. Thanks for bringing me back on track!!!!

I posted a link to an article from the mercury news in San Jose regarding this murder in the psych forum. This is the Alameda County hospital. Alameda is densely populated and contains the city of Oakland. This particular hospital has a poor reputation among psych nurses in the area. Yep:devil:
