osce ( observational structured clinical examination)

Hi,

I am internationally trained nurse from India. I applied for registration as RN in college of nurses of Ontario Oct 2011. They took over a year and finally determined that my education/ experience is not equivalent to those of current graduates of Canadian nursing program. They have asked me to write Observational Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and pass in order to show equivalency. My question is that have anybody else been asked to take OSCE exam and what to expect? Also what does the college consider while evaluating education as other nurses from my college have been given eligibility without fulfilling any other criteria or exam!!

I haven't received a confirmation from CEHPEA. Will take the next date of OSCE evaluation most likely.

It seems like the next exam hasn't been set yet and monitoring the CEHPEA website for updates is recommended Centre for the Evaluation of Health Professionals Educated Abroad (CEHPEA)

CEHPEA do not know yet when is the next schedule of OSCE evaluation.

What HFO told me is that they are going to conduct 3 info session in April alone for IEN.

to those who didn't received their invitation yet, try to register and attend the HFO session, it is so informative..the earlier the better so you will have an idea and you can start practicing...

Thank you RIANNE16 but I think HFO will not give us confirmation to attend the info session until we are registered to take the OSCE evaluation. Also, they have not release the next date of the OSCE evaluation yet, right?

How is the info session? Is it true that it is a bit intimidating for entry level RN?
