osce ( observational structured clinical examination)

Hi,

I am internationally trained nurse from India. I applied for registration as RN in college of nurses of Ontario Oct 2011. They took over a year and finally determined that my education/ experience is not equivalent to those of current graduates of Canadian nursing program. They have asked me to write Observational Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and pass in order to show equivalency. My question is that have anybody else been asked to take OSCE exam and what to expect? Also what does the college consider while evaluating education as other nurses from my college have been given eligibility without fulfilling any other criteria or exam!!

What are the things needed to bring during the OSCE?

Hi all

so I am writing doing the osce in June 17th anyone out there in or around ottawa that would like to get together and do some scenarios? Or just have a good old chat about them?

Bring a stethoscope, wear scrubs or a gown.. attend HFO info session (not required but i think its the best thing you can do to prepare for the OSCE). I passed the OSCE myself, not meaning to boast, but just saying that it is "beatable" and "doable" even for an IEN without Canadian experience such as myself in response to a comment a while ago.

Hi Laus,how was your OSCE exam last June 17?ill be taking mine on august 7.Until now I still could not say that I am ready.Ill just do my best and God will do the rest.

Focus group research study on IEN in Ontario : Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing / Association canadienne des écoles de sciences infirmières (CASN / ACESI)

Anyone eligible for this study? This might be something that would give the regulators a better view of the problems encountered by IEN in the registration process.

Hi there peeps,

I came from the Philippines and will take the OSCE next year here in Ontario. I just want to know, for those who is done with OSCE, what book/s would you recommend? Also, what strategies you did or you think you should have done to help you pass OSCE.
