osce ( observational structured clinical examination)

Hi,

I am internationally trained nurse from India. I applied for registration as RN in college of nurses of Ontario Oct 2011. They took over a year and finally determined that my education/ experience is not equivalent to those of current graduates of Canadian nursing program. They have asked me to write Observational Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and pass in order to show equivalency. My question is that have anybody else been asked to take OSCE exam and what to expect? Also what does the college consider while evaluating education as other nurses from my college have been given eligibility without fulfilling any other criteria or exam!!

I have a question to those who took the osce exam first batch? I took osce exam last June 27 and have the result, is its true that we need to take the additional courses at university? or the cno will allow us to get these courses at the college level? Please share were you get your additional education?in university or at college level?

Hello all - I am a British nurse who has just received the onvitation to attend the OSCE in Toronto. I am wondering how people have found the OSCE with regard to pasediatrics as I don't have experience in this area. Have many of you been allowed to do online education after the OSCE or is it more days in college after the OSCE before you can sit the exam? I am wondering just how many times I might be required to fly to Canada!? Thank-you so much :)

Hello, please I need urgent reply, it is about OSCE, I was sent a message by CEHPEA to register for OSCE exam, but while registering on-line I was unable to complete my regitration because when I was unable to click on any date of choice for examination! I am worried because I my e-mail I was told seats for upcoming exams are limited, when I tried to contact CEHPEA on phone, a voice just told me new date will be available by november

@ Rashy,

Try to call CEHPEA between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday or email. I believe they can give an answer for your concern. In the website, it states all dates are full until June 17, 2014, and as you mentioned new dates will be announced on Nov 1st . Try to contact as soon as possible.
