Orthopaedic Certification

Published

Has anyone got their ONC? I've tried looking around at study guides but none are really tailored to what I need. Just looking for helpful advice on what resources I should be using to help get my certification.

Thanks!

I just got an email from them that are doing live proctoring so you can take it from home. I have to recertify this month and I am tempted to test again as I am terribly unorganized and not sure I have all my certificates for CE hours.

How was the exam? How was taking it proctored from home I assume?

I took the exam in August and passed! Since lockdown I first registered to take it like in June.  But they kept cancelling because the testing sites were closed during the time.  The site that I took it in August, I was the only test taker there, with the proctor.  They checked my temperature before going in and I had to hand sanitize going in and out like when I had to use a bathroom break.

Exam itself was hard LOL! I also have my med-surg certification, but the ONC was harder.  My job provided the Core Curriculum book, which was my primary source of reading. I also purchased the practice exams from the ONC site which was extremely helpful.  I also looked up patho videos on Youtube that broke down many of the diseases I didn't understand like RA, the pediatric disorders, oncology, congenital etc. Any questions feel free to ask :)

I took the exam recently and passed as well... congrats to you! It was challenging but if you study you’ll be okay. Thank you for responding.

Aloha everyone. I realize this is an old thread.  Just wondering how does the onc provide the exam review bundle? Is it electronic or do they mail it to you? I just purchased the bundle for $160 and I'm hoping I can share it with other nurses after I'm finished with it.

It’s electronic. You can still share it, if you don’t mind sharing your username and password with your co-workers.
