Orlando Health/ Dr. P. Philips Hospital new graduate nursing program?

Published

Has anyone been accepted into Orlando Health System/ Dr. P. Philips Hospital new grad program? How do you like working there? How long is the contract? What's the nurse to patient ratio like? Any info would be helpful.

Do far I believe that med/surg pay is around $22/hr, new grad training is 12 weeks, ICU positions require two year commitment, no relocation bonus...

I just accepted a position as a new grad BSN RN on PCU. I was offered $23.22 an hour as a new grad, and I start in September. I chose them over florida hospital as I heard patient ratios for nurses and their CNA's are horrid. Orlando Health was my first choice, and Dr. P Phillips Hospital seems to be a great location. I had a great interview, and received the offer 2 days later. I am excited to start!

Anybody know if they hire new grads into the ER? Also, what does the two year contract entail? I know FL Hospital wanted you to pay them $13,500 if you were terminated, laid off or resigned. Thought that was extreme.

The best thing to do is to apply for an ER position and then contact HR to let them know you applied. I did this and its how I got my job as a new grad. I did not need to sign a contact for PCU yet. but normally it means you have to work their for two years and not get fired or quit.
