Orlando Florida/ Americare- LPN school

Published

Hello,

Has any one here attended or is presently attending Americare's LPN program in Orlando Florida? If so, what is it like and what was the process for being chosen for the program?

Thank you,

China4mom

Hi Wanting2beanLPN,

I got both of your e-mails. My first time I made a 61 composite. I took it a second time as I did not like the first result and made a 71 composite score. Try it again if you can and I bet you will do better. I hate timed test especially when it involves math.

Keep me posted.

I just graduated from Otech and the program was terrible and disorganized i wouldnt recommend it.....the teachers dont really care....and frankly for a program that has been around for so long it feels like ur class is the first to graduate from that program ever....

Hi China.. Thanks again for replying. How did you improve your score so much? I really haven't found too much to help me with the reading. And I do have the study book, and did the practice tests. I have signed up to retake the NET on Friday. I am just worried that is the my last chance to take the NET again, you know? What if I do worse??:uhoh21:

Hey,

I just redid the math over and and over at home. The reading part is easy for me , the math ,that is a challenge for me.

No negative thinking. You will do fine. Now you know what the test is like so I bet you do a lot better. Did they say how many openings they have left to fill for September?

Keep me posted .

Take care

Hey China,

Well I passed the NET today I got a 73 and a interview next week!!! I had asked a week ago and they still had half the class to fill up. I think I have one more question for you, lol. Do they let you know at the interview if you are accepted, or by mail?

Wohoo!!! I told you you would do better the second time!! I am happy for you.

As for the interview, there is no certain way they do it. So it is really hard to tell you what they may do. Time is getting short so even if they do not tell you that day , it will surely have to come within a week or two. Keep me posted!!

Hey... thanks again for replying!! I am glad the NET is out of the way, but I am nervous already about this interview!! What kind of questions did they ask you? How long did it last? And how long did it take for you to get your acceptance letter? I know it may be different... but anything you could tell me will really help. Not to mention calm me down.. haha.

Hello,

At the interview she wanted me to tell her a little about myself. If I had worked in the medical profession before. My present job. That is all I can think of as we just generally talked some too. I also had transcripts , unoffical ones, of courses I had already taken at the community college. Don't worry you will do fine. The teachers that were interviewing seem to be really nice and I felt they loved nursing and teaching. { You are only interviwed by one person. I hope all goes well for you as I am sure it will , just relax, dress up a bit like for a job interview and show your excitement for nursing. Keep me posted.

China,

Thanks so much for all your help! I got accepted today!! Boy, did I worry about the interview for nothing! It was a piece of cake, so much easier than I expected!! :monkeydance: Assuming that most of the people who were interviewed today got accepted, the class should be full!!

Wohoo!!! I know you are happy . I guess I will see you in September!

How many were there for the interviews? I was also chosen on the spot as you were on their first set of interviews in June.

Take care

for the interview i think there was about 12 people. registration went good, but i look terrible in those white scrubs!! :uhoh3: wish we could wear colored ones!! i am still waiting for my appt for financial aid. did you get enough financial aid to cover most of the tuition? i am anxious to see about that. and tomorrow i need to make a doctors appt. for the physical and shots. have you done that yet? have a good week!

Yes, I have done the doctor's appointment a while back but I need a tetnus shot. I don't know, really how to prove the Hep Shots and all the shots I had as a kid. I guess I could have titers done but I wonder what they do when people don't believe in getting the immunizations? I would hate to spend that kind of money to prove I had shots .

Financial aid is covered so that is one less thing to worry about.I guess white scrubs are better than having to wear some ugly vest over a dress uniform. I wish we could wear a navy blue scrub, would show less dirt and stuff. Take care, see ya in a few weeks! I am excited to get started!
