Where did the Edna clamp get its name from? Who is Edna? Just looking for an Origin and history of the clamp.

It's probably a brand name. The Edna is technically slightly different than a Backhaus clamp in the jaws. My guess is someone called it that and it stuck. Kinda like an Oschner and a Kocher are two names for the same instrument

It is also called the Lorna Towel clamp. Both names are used interchangeably but arguably , most of us know it as the Edna. I would like to think it was named after a Scrub nurse who invented it as a non perforating option from the Bachaus clamp.
