Orientation/Training for new employee

Published

I am considering a job offering at a large city hospital ER. I have four years Med-Surg experience. I was wondering if others could give experience with the amount of training, preceptorship etc. you recieved before feeling comfortable to be on your own

thanks in advance

Well when I was oriented to ER, I was introduced to her at the beginning of the shift, shown around, shown the chart, and she said there are patients go to work try not to kill anybody. That all took 15 minutes.

!9 yrs later Im still there. And yes I believe new hires are coddled way too much. Because they come off orientation and still are helpless.
