orientation on monday!!! help!

The NOC is not fun, that's for sure, but if you keep letting them know you'd like days, I am sure they'll sooner or later move you to more days. Doing both might really be a challenge!!! I would be very pleased with 20.00 an hour to start. You have raises at certain points I would imagine?

I'd be interested to know what state you are in. I wouldn't worry too much about starting orientation without your license being verified, just remember, do not do any type of nursing duties, even under the supervision of co worker, until that license has processed! you will be practicing without a license if you do that. i think $20/hr is pretty typical of a new nurse, and like mentioned in the other comment, just keep reminding them you want to move to days and i guarantee that you will be there within a year (at least on eves, which was my favorite, unless your a 12 hour shift facility). just make sure during your orientation if you have any questions you ask! and never hesitate to ask a co worker once your on your own. and i'm sure if you have friends that are CNA's it will be hard delegating to them, i've ran into co workers who have had that problem, just remember, you went to school to have a different job, and you cant do it on your own! remember to tell them if you need something done and don't feel bad or guilty! good luck!!

Just curious are you in California? I am also orientating and have not received my actual license. I tested on March 13th and still have not heard anything from the BON. I have also been a CNA at my work for many years it is a little strange to change roles in the same facility.

Yes I am in cali. March 13th is the date you tested it took 2 weeks to receive my letter stating I passed. Then it takes another 4-6 weeks to receive your actual license in the mail. To this day I am still waiting for mine in the mail. I have emailed and called but I get thw same answers but they would also update me on the date they are working on.

So far they only have me training on the computer and trying to get myself familiar with the whole system on the computer and laptops. I was also able to put physcian orders in with the direct supervision of the RN...since I did not have my badge yet to scan/authorize orders. And yes, it is difficult to transition from cna to lvn in the same facility because some of them was happy for me but others were snobby. And you're right I did work hard to put myself trhough nursing school and I'm glad I'm finally in this position in my life. I won't try to prove to others that although my scrub color changed and title changed on my name badge that I'm still the same person. They can either get along with me or not and ill let it be at that. But I will make sure that they do their job and I do my job.

For sure it isn't fun. :/ and yes they said at least 6 months or less depending on how I am catching on. And yes they do give raises annually...after evaluation.
