SOOOO scared, my first day as a brand new LVN is tomorrow! I am done with orientation and computer training, so its a real honest to God nursing day! Iam going to be working on the telemetry med surg unit. Tomorrow I was told I will observe in the skilled unit, so I have no idea what that will be like. do you remember being a new nurse??? What kind of tips can you give any of us newbies to survive the first few months of nursing? We're down to the wire now!!

I was just thinking of you - today's your day! After you get all ready for day 1 of your first nurse job take a picture of yourself, 20 yrs from now you'll cherish that photo! Again, best of luck.

I'm sorry, I don't have many tips for you as I've only been nsg on my own for a couple months. I would echo some of the other posts though. Eat, breathe, ask a million questions, and bring a little notebook to scribble all the answers in.

Congratulations on your new position! Don't be afraid to ask questions, don't be afraid to ask about or look up facility policies, and don't be afraid to keep learning...even 10 years from now! That's why I love being a nurse...No matter how long I've been doing it, there is still more to learn!

Good luck and have a fantastic first day!
