Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (OCtech) Fall 2021 ADN and LPN

Hey all! I’ll be applying to Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College’s ADN program for Fall 2021 and I’m super nervous. Has anyone else here applied or plan on applying? If so, let’s keep each other updated!! 
 

I’ll be applying with 52 points and all pre-reqs completed. I currently live in Richland County....I also put LPN as a secondary choice.

Yes! Mine changed to ADN!

@AngRenee24 mine changed on Thursday as well because when I checked Wednesday night it was career prep but then I checked on Thursday it was AAS Fall Nursing! That’s why I came on here to see if anyone else’s had changed

@Erica93 Don’t be sad my love, keep the faith and know that you will get accepted. Don’t give up and don’t let nothing discourage you. 
 

My first time applying, I was waitlisted and however I did not get in. Oh yes, I was sad and hurt, but that gave me even more motivation to do what I needed to do so I would be prepared for when it was time to apply again.  I retook classes and tried my absolute best to get very good grades to boost my GPA and that really helped. A delay is not a denial, you will definitely make it happen girlie! Keep pushing! ☺️❤️

@marquia93 Me too, girl LOL ?. I was okay hold up now, I don’t want to even get excited, and it end up being false hope. I want that official acceptance letter in my hand first, LOL! ???

@AngRenee24 thanks! It’s just that with the timing of midlands tech and of techs semesters ending- I have to wait another year! I’ll only have 2 more points to apply with come Spring so... expecting same result LOL I got a call last Wednesday about my HS transcript- it was on file with the school but I had a different last name. The admissions lady gave me a little hope when she told me Covid messed stuff up so I still had a chance at slipping by LOL I feel like it’s been over a week since they called about that- surely they’d have updated it LOL ? thanks for the kind words. Nothing I can do but try again.

@Erica93 Thank you! But I do hate that happened to you, ugh! However, let’s not give up hope because everyone that’s accepted my have also got accepted at another school that happens so to be their first choice which would open up seats in Tech’s program. I wish you all the best sis! We’re definitely here to help, and lift one another up because we all have a common goal we want to reach.

@Erica93 I agree with what @AngRenee24 said! Don’t be sad! Keep the faith & NEVER give up because we all do have one common goal! When I withdrew from my 1st nursing program (fortis college), I tried to enroll in OC Tech LPN program a year later and was denied (not even waitlisted). I was heartbroken about it and wanted to completely give up becoming a nurse. Especially when my peers were finishing and not me however, I decided to retake some classes as well to get better grades. I almost got discouraged again when I was submitting my app this year due to having to appeal. I even had ppl in my circle telling me that it’s probably not going to be approved but GOD??????! So don’t EVER get up! Don’t give the devil the satisfaction of giving up because you’ll be surprised who is actually out there praying for you to not be successful! Please keep pushing! What’s for you will be for you & don’t let anything or anyone make you think otherwise!
