I need info on what I'm in for at the end of my program. So far instructors will not give us any info on it. How long did your exam take? How awful was it? How am I supposed to remember EVERYTHING from the entire program. I'm flipping out.

I had to take oral comps at the end of my program. One month before, we were given 5 questions to prepare, on a variety of topics. The panel could ask us any 2 questions out of those five. They weren't straight ahead, easy to answer 5 minute questions. You had to describe areas such as pathology, current research, treatments, psycho-social impact of the disease process, anything that might be applicable to the question. Ethics were included, along with nursing theory. My exam took 2 hours. I was well prepared and that made all the difference. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
Good luck!
That's not as bad as I was thinking if mine is like yours. I'm thinking they can ask you absolutely anything with no type of guidance or prep questions.
Anyone else have to do an oral comp?
