I use PPR Healthcare for my OR travel assignments. I have had a great experience with them! I have also heard good things about Cross Country for OR travel but I have never used them.

Alisabeth,
I have read a lot of your posts and I understand that you began OR traveling
with only one year experience. How was your first assignment? What kind of facility
and what kind of cases did they have you doing? Where you scrubbing or circulating
or both? I am about to start traveling and even though I have more than one year experience
I am nervous. I scrub and circulate.
Thank you.
My travel assignments have always been in Level I or II trauma centers with 32-48 operating rooms, so pretty big hospitals. I have been to California and different parts of Florida. I was put in all types of cases, but they usually try to put you in your specialty area. Mine was neuro/ortho. Sometimes you are in cases you have never done before, but I have gotten lucky and been with a strong scrub tech who was able to help me. My assignment starting next week is a small hospitals in Florida with 9 operating rooms. So I'm guessing it will be very different than what I'm used to. Even though I scrub and circulate, all my travel assignments have just been for circulating. They are posted as scrub/circulate assignments but when you get there they usually need more circulators. Where are you looking to travel?
