OR Pharmacology Exam

Published

Hello! I'm a new grad nurse and I've recently been accepted to a great hospital at the OR, and Im taking a pharmacology test soon.

I read through it and im having trouble figuring out which resources to use to study. I checked the Joint Commission and AORN Websites but I have to pay to be able to read through most of their content. I'm a long time lurker (ever since before I was even a student) and decided to ask for help here. Im posting in hopes of finding advice from the OR Nurses - which resources do you use when you want to freshen up on basic material? I've already bought some books, but none of them are pharmacology based to the questions given on the study guide provided to me. I have tried searching the internet to but there are multiple dosages given for each medication. Thank you in advanced! Your help would save me. The OR has been my dream!

Here is the study guide that was provided to me:

Specializes in OR, Nursing Professional Development.

If you are interested in OR nursing, go ahead and join AORN in order to get access to those resources. The journal articles are worth it- heck, many years ago I paid $1000 for a lifetime membership- and it has more than paid for itself as the annual fees have gone up. Beyond that, you can utilize a good drug book or website and MHAUS for malignant hyperthermia.

Hey how was the exam?
