Hi all-
I will be starting a nursing program in the Fall, and have just finished writing a paper on burnout in the nursing profession for one of my pre-req's. I am appalled at many of the stories/statistics I have read on working conditions/hours, etc. in hospitals. However, I know nurses that work "untraditional" nursing jobs such as removing tattoos or giving Botox injections in environments that sound a bit more sane.
So, my question is: what are some options I have with a nursing degree other than working in a hospital? Options with an advanced degree are fine, too... I am trying to psych myself up for the next three years.
Thanks for your replies!

Options?
Ambulatory surgery center, surgeon's office, PCP's office, pediatrician's office, other specialty offices, OR, Public Health Department, School Nursing, Home Health care, nursing home, assisted living facility, hospice...just to name a few.
Thank you, Roser13...I am worried about this decision for variety of reasons. I keep hearing new grad's can't get jobs, but I am hoping that having a degree will help me in some way.
