I just spoke with someone who I went to school with (In Texas) who lived in NYC and said people there expect you to know the right awnser to everything in a split second, no learning curve, no patience. has anyone found this to be true? I have an interview with North General next week....

Where is North General?
harlem. I took a position here for the next year though. I've been told by two people who lived in Manhattan a little woman like me doesn't belong in harlem.

You'll be fine in Harlem. It's just like anywhere else in the world...you have to be smart about walking alone and being out at night. You'll be in a crowded area up there by the hospital, so that should make you feel a little better. NYC is fast paced, but the Dr's and nurses are just normal people. Do your best and you'll be fine! Enjoy your stay! :)
They are actually here in Phoenix this week at a convention (whoever plans a conevention in mid July in Phoenix should be shot), but I got a job locally. Will look into NYC next summer, probably look for permanent placement in an ICU. Do you have any favorites for area ICUs?
Thanks!
