Okay, so I am going to take a full load of classes this summer because I want all of my scholarship money (I always have a huge refund check and I need the extra money). So far for the summer, Im registered for Med Term, Pathophysiology, Pharm, and Human Sexuality. I start a nursing program in the fall.
If I were to take pharm this summer it would just be learning the drugs and their classes, you know just the basic stuff. But in the second year of the program there is a pharm class in the fall and spring semesters that covers the names, classes, administration, etc. Basically the pharm classes in the actual program are for nursing and not just general knowledge.
I know people say that pharm is a lot of memorization and time consuming, so I'd like to know if you guys think its worth it to take it before Im in the program. Or should I take something easier because I'll also be working full time this summer and I dont want to be overwhelmed.
Okay, so here's my question:
Does it make sense to take pharm in the summer as an elective (and get a heads up) since it is already incorporated into my nursing program for two semesters?
Thanks Guys!

Unless taking it an extra time is required, I think it's just unnecessary money spent. You could learn that type of basic information from picking up a $20 book like "Pharmacology Demystified." Plus, I think that is already a LOT of courses to take during the summer AND work a full-time job. Keep in mind that summer classes have the same amount of information as fall/spring courses, they're just crammed into a shorter period of time.
I understand what youre saying. Thats exactly why I was asking, but Im going to take 12 credits regardless ( I do it every summer), so I was just trying to figure out if I should get a heads up and take pharm or take a different elective.

Yes, if you can do it sooner, do it.
