I sent an endorsement app to the CA BON in Oct 2009 and still have not been licensed almost a year later with full and total disclosure and all documentation requested has been sent in to them! I am a working nurse in WA state no dings what so ever! I moved to CA in Aug to take care of elderly grandmother. She was placed in a LTC and I decided to go to work there since I'd signed a lease. I hadn't lived there in over 20 years and the misdemeanor was older than that of loud and disruptive music and vandalism at age 18y/o I am nearly 40 now. The police department would not respond with a "certified copy" of a letter stating they no longer had the report in their records. I however had traveled two hours away to get it for them and what I got was not certified and funds were running low I had been reduced, literally, (savings depleted) to food stamps and hand outs from the state. I didn't have gas for my Denali etc... And when I finally got some an analyst on the phone they told me they would then request this from the agency and they did and the same thing the agency I assume never replied or gave them what they requested. and here I stand never having been licensed in that state I have since moved and was contacted by the BON where one of the lead analysts advising me that the app was still open and did I want to close it after my complaint he found out I was not there any longer. Not I am sorry or lady jump off a bridge or any thing just the business at hand... I WONT BE BACK!
unlike the governor is so famous for saying.

I understand that everyone's experiences with the BRN is different & nobody will be able to give me the exact answer I am looking for but I would like some opinions :)
I live in Cali & have 2 misdemeanors on my record. They are both ~10 years old & are for driving without a license & driving with a suspended license. After that whole ordeal, I did my community service & paid all the fines & eventually got my license back - all in a matter of a couple of months.
I sent my app to the BRN with court documents & a letter stating what had happened, etc.
Do you think this is something that can delay the application process for a long time & even worse, prevent me from getting my RN license
I already have a job lined up & plan to take the NCLEX in a month or so. I'm just praying my stupid decisions from 10 years ago won't interfere with my future - I'm terrified!!
