Opinions on Baptist Health System School of Health Professions

Published

I plan on moving to San Antonio at the end of this year. I was wanting to start an lvn program in the Spring of 2015. I have done some research and am leaning towards Baptist Health System's lvn program. I was wondering how competitive is the program? When did you take your Accuplacer test? What does the Accuplacer focus on? At the college I am currently at you have to take the HESI so the Accuplacer is new to me. Were you able to work and go to school? I understand that varies by person depending on how they juggle the two. Did you enjoy the program? How was the atmosphere? Most importantly did you like it and did you feel as though what you were learning was going to help you pass the NCLEX? All opinions help! Thanks!

Hi Kels6365, I'm not enrolled in the LVN program but I am in the RN program. I hope I can answer some things for you. First off, the school is great. They actually educate you and challenge you with NCLEX style exams. As for the schedule, the first semester (I am currently finishing this particular semester) would be an okay time to work and go to school, many of my peers are currently working positions full time, part time and even pool jobs at the hospitals we do our rotations at. I took the TEAS entrance test but high schoolers taken the accuplacer and have gotten decent scores. I hope this answers your questions. Good luck to you.
