Open House at TMC - Novant - Did anyone go?

Published

Just wondering if anyone went to the open house on Tuesday at Thomasville Medical Center and how it went? What did you hear? Do they have a lot of openings?

I tried going but didn't get the news in time to go. I wouldn't have made it (I'm from IA).

Anyways, how is New Grad hiring there in NC now? It was bombarded when I tried back in March. Waiting until August to try again. No luck yet in this state.:uhoh3:

For those who attended a new grad orientation at Forsyth Hospital/Novant, how long after you attended the orientation were you called for an interview? I attended orientation 3 weeks ago, and we were told interviews would take place and then all jobs would be offered Dec 1 and we would have until Dec 10 to accept or decline. I had a couple of nurse managers star my resume, but I have yet to be called to schedule an interview. There were also very few jobs availabe this time. Most sections said they did not have any openings, but would keep our resume on file. Overall it was a very disheartening experience!

I am not exactly a "new grad" because I've worked 17 months in HH. But according to Forsyth I'm a new grad because I have no hospital/acute care experience. I attended this open house and one unit scheduled an interview on the spot. Got a call from Transitional ICU 2 weeks ago and a call from ICU last week for interviews. Transitional ICU's manager called on Tuesday informally offering me the job and I am thinking about taking it. She said HR would be calling me with an official offer. She made it sound like it would be before December. She did say be patient because she's busy... By accepting this job I will be committing to a 50 min commute one way but the chance to get into critical care will be worth it. I've also interviewed at Presby Main in Charlotte, and 1 time at Baptist. I have 2 more interviews at Baptist scheduled for Tuesday. I am a "professional interviewer" at this point:lol2: Just hang in there! and Good luck!
