Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

For those on the UofT waitlist who reside in Toronto, did you receive an email from the Student Placement Coordinator about the VSS last week?

I was actually about to email in the morning cause I haven't gotten one. Glad to know it's not just me!

Haha me too, guess we can only wait!

Has anyone gotten off the waitlist for Lakehead's compressed nursing yet?

hey everyone! new to allnurses :)) I'm in my 4th year at Western and I'm applying to UofT, Mac, Western and Queen's. I accidentally sent all my OUAC transcripts in November (with no fall 2020 grades) Would I have to send my transcripts out again either when my fall grades are in and/or after all my grades are in around April? thanks!

Heyy, Im a 2nd yr student at Western and want to apply to the Western program only. Is there a supplementary application for Western or no? Tyy and goof luck!

AHHHHH! Just got off the Western Waitlist. Started crying on the phone so pretty sure they think I'm crazy but super happy. I was registered in the 4-year program as a back-up but glad this came through.

Congrats!!

I wonder if anyone got accepted from the waitlist for UofT

Hi! uwo requires a CASPer test along with your grades! I believe they just look for you to achieve a certain score and pass their threshold for the test. If/when you pass that score, then it's just like a box they tick off for your application. Other schools like Mac, weigh your CASPer score (20%) with your grades (80%) so it's important to try to do your best on all elements of your app! Good luck ?

Tysmm for the info and which unis have a supplemental application? Since western and Mac don't, is it utm which had an extra application? Also, what is the Casper test like and can we do re writes? Thanks, and sorry for so many questions, I literally just found out about accelerated nursing a few days ago and don't know much.

I UofT has a supplemental application and I believe queen's has a supplemental app as well. The Casper test is designed to test your thought process and decision making in various scenarios and also personal based questions where they might ask if you can relate any events (or lack of) that happened in your life with the prompt the give (eg. might be questions about your values) and you can only do one test per application cycle.

anyone hear anything from UOfT Waitlist ?

Hey guys! If anyone wants the York group links, let me know! We started a facebook group today that should be searchable (class of 2023).

I would love to get the York group links please. I tried searching for the group but just can't seem to find it on facebook.
