the ONLY state where APRNs can't write prescriptions!

Did you know that Georgia is the ONLY state that doesn't allow advanced practice nurses to write prescriptions!!?? What does everyone think of this? How do you think we could encourage nurse practitioners to practice in Georgia knowing that they wouldn't be allowed to have as much authority as they could in other states? Any thoughts on this would be helpful!!

Your right and they (the Docs) support PA's.. some with 2 year degrees,humn go figure that one out..

I was all thumbs when typing my first reply. I in no way shape or form took offense. Don't let the lack of funds or not holding a political office sway or discourage your attempts. Try the media outlets- they seem to love a negative story these days. And don't forget brother Jimmy down in Plains, Ga- especially if you have republican state officials- Jimmy just loves going after them.

Seriously though, I do believe that the inequality is only a matter of MONEY and if you use what lobbying you do have. I think Ga. will come around. Good luck.
