IL issued me my RN license in November 2011 and My license expires already in May 2012. That doesnt give me much time, but I do understand why they do that. What I dont know though, is how many CEUs do I need? I assume they dont expect a full 2 years worth of CEUs...right? I cant get a hold of the IL BON, so I am hoping someone here can help me? =D

Seriously a little concerned you couldn't just google this information for yourself. But for the state of IL you need 20 CEU credits for every TWO years of licensing. The first renewal this is waived. So you're fine. Chill out and work on your google skills..

You can find some very affordable online CEU courses. Check with your state BON to see if /how many hours they allow for those, if for future reference when you do need to renew.

That happened to me too on my first renewal but, As jpeters pointed out- you are waived from your first CEU requirement.
Breath easy my friend
PS: Not in IL so pretty sure this is pretty common
