Online surveys when applying? one question is driving me

batty, I am worried I am answering it wrong because I am reading it wrong, I will paraphrase a bit just need help, do not want to be booted out of every hospital system because I am misreading the question.

Questions a bit like this:

At previous job you work with someone who doesnt always follow the rules, so you

a} get really upset and say something to that coworker

b} get really upset and say nothing

c} get upset but let it go

d} could care less

e} no experience

I thought C and A--but A sounds really dramatic (REALLY upset) vs. C that sounds letting it go (laid back)--I chose C once but now think perhaps A (I would go to a supervisor not coworker)? but the adjectives are throwing me off. Asked a friend and she thought it really means A be a rule follower being the main point? So before I do any more surveys if anyone remembers similar queries I just am not doing any more surveys until I get a better read on this.

It almost sounds like questions from the NCLEX!

In all honesty who has not worked with someone who does/did not follow the rules. I know I have and I was frustrated by it.

However rules (SOP) are in place for a reason. I think this comes down to your ethics and what would you do.

Thanks, that is what I thought, I would usually go to a supervisor first only it wasnt an option. I will just go with my gut next time and relate it to nursing not previous (other) work experience :) I read so much into all these questions :)

are you in CT? I took an online 'test' for a hospital that had the exact same question on it! Drove me crazy too. Actually many of the questions drove me insane because some questions answers depended on the situation. For example the question you posted. What 'rule' aren't the following. If its a rule like, everyone works every other weekend and my co-worker somehow never ends up doing so, would I get upset and confront the co-worker, no, I would probably get upset but let it go. Now if the rule was set in place to protect a patient and that rule wasn't being followed, I may confront the coworker then.

There were several that either none of the answers given where what I'd do/say or my answer really would depend on the situation.
