Hi All,
I am new to this forum and am hoping with your collective experience, you might help me out.
Does anyone know if there is an online RN program? Or a program that would let me do all my courses except clinical?
I am taking care of my mother who has dementia and have nothing but time right now to devote to studies. But it needs to be online. When I try to google it, I come up with health assistant schools and RN to BSN programs.
If there are no such programs, can anyone let me know what courses I could take online and get out of the way?
Thanks,
Kim B.

I went to Excexsior College online program for my ASN. They also have a BSN program and both are accredited. They are based in Albany NY. You may also want to check out Walden University, University of Phoenix, university of Jacksonville for online programs. Just make sure they are Accredited!! Hope this helps !

If you do not have any college credits at all, I would get all of the general education credits out of the way first. You know, the math, english, humanities, social science, etc. that I am sure you would need whether you go to an online or traditional school. You could even take additional classes that you would need for a BSN if you think you may want to go that route. I only needed two extra classes for a BSN vs ADN, Organic Chemistry and Developmental Psychology. Then, you could take all of your pre-nursing classes, like A&P and microbiology. Most junior colleges offer online classes. That should keep you busy for a while.

I noticed that you are from CA so Excelsior College is out for you. You can look them up to see what their program is like if you wish http://www.excelsior.edu. There is another online program that is accepted in CA, it is done through ISU. Do a google search for the ISU online nursing program or just go to the distance learning forum page and you will see lots of threads and posts about this program. There are a lot of students in northern CA that have recently started this program and most of them seem to be satisfied with it, judging from their posts here.

Hi, question.......I tried to find the ISU online nursing program, but can't find it. Do you mean Illinois State University, Iowa State University or Indiana State University? If you might happen to have a link, that would be soooo appreciated, although I understand if you don't have time. Thanks!!
^^^^^Found it! Idaho State =) It does say you have to be an LPN first and be certified in IV therapy.

i am a 50 yr old whose job is going off-shore - i must go the lvn to rn route as i am one of 246 applicants for the local community college rn program that were rejected - they accepted 30 as there aren't enough teachers to teach..... so only an accredited nursing school for my lvn and take as many pre-reqs at the jr. col as possible - thanks for the info - :)
Best of luck to you!
