I am about to start an online rn to bsn through Chamberlain College of Nursing on march 1st 2010. I've read lots of reviews, more good than bad, so I decided to proceed. I am wondering if anybody out there has any new information about their own experience so far this year with the program? This is not my first online program, but wonder about the amount of hours weekly each course is taking??? I see that the school is accredited, but is the online program accredited also?? Is anyone else out there starting in March?
Trust me, just watch the live lectures every week and you will do fine. He also has a facebook page (it's called Statcave) where he posts all the lecture notes - makes things super easy.
I just finished Information Systems - eeeaaaassssyyy. Easier than transitions. 3 very small (2 page or less - week 2's only 3 paragraphs!) papers in week 2-4-6 and then the discussion posts. I loved my teacher as well. So far the only teacher I didn't like was the first professor I had for Transitions. :)
I think I have a female instructor for stats, hopefully she will have live lectures other places than devry and more than once, I work days, pms and weekends so I have always missed the live chats. Thanks for your info, you'll like Health Assessment! How far are you at Chamberlain? Sounds like further than me. If I can keep up with the classes as outlined I will be done with my BSN by end of this year.
I had a female instructor as well, but the person who does the live lectures is male. He does the live lectures for ALL the stats classes - so don't worry :) Also, the lectures are recorded so you could view them at any time. During my session he taped them on Sunday night, which never worked for me because I work PM's - which include every other weekend, so I usually watched the lectures by Tuesday. You will do great!
If I am ahead of you, I won't be for long, as I'm only taking one class at a time I started in August (Summer B session) this year. I've taken Transitions, Algebra, Stats and Informatics. I really enjoy the pace of one-course per session. I have minimal (if any) stress. I'm newly married [1.5yrs], work full time and found out I'm pregnant (yay!) so I don't want to overload myself. Unfortunately, this means I will not finish until next August - but, I may take up an extra class when I'm out on maternity leave this winter (maybe).

Congrats on the baby and newly married! I've been married for 28 yrs, 3 grown children, and 1 grandchild. Went back to nursing school when my kids were younger, been nursing 10 years now. Our hospital just achieved magnet so they are really encouraging their nurses without a BSN to get it. So here I am, thanks for all your help and I will be looking into that web site. You'll love Health assessment will reinforce what you already know and improve your nursing skills.

Awesome! :) Thank you! We are thrilled to be expecting :redpinkhe The hospital I work for has talk about going magnet, but I think they're really going to have make big changes to achieve it. Not to mention, every charge nurse that works there is a diploma-RN, and I'd say 75-85% of the floor nurses are diploma RN's. Best of luck!
Did you use the book alot for stats? Very expensive was looking for used one!
If I remember correctly you need the book because you have to post to the answers to homework problems to the discussion board. It has been a while since I took it there but I am pretty sure you need the book. The only book I can say I never used was the community health book.

You are the 1st person I ever heard say stats was easy, that eases my anxiety alot, thanks! Health Assessment I enjoyed because good review and was applicable to my job. There are 4 article reviews, and a Power point presentation due week 7. Loved the teacher! Did you take Information systems yet?
