Hello everyone,

I'm trying to find a accredited online lvn program, is there such a thing? Because when I research online, I get the colleges, but it doesn't lead me anywhere. Does anyone have information pertaining to this. thank you:unsure:

No such thing as an online only entry to practice LPN or RN program. All programs must have a in-person clinical component. Most require in person skills labs to learn & demonstrate skills. There is a hybrid program in OR that you must be local to. Classroom is online, proctored exams, and you must report to the school for skills labs and various facilities local to the skill.

If you are in CA, there are no approved online schools and if you wish to be licensed in CA the program must be authorized by CABVNPT

Question? I am here in Cali. and I am thinking of doing the method 3, (that's challenging the boards from cna to lvn), but the only thing is, it's not transferable to other states. I wouldn't mind doing the method 3 here if only I would be able to sit for the out of state exams only. I wouldn't mind re-taking the exam, just not doing the program all over again. Is this possible? Thank you once again;)

No. In ordered to be licensed in any state other than CA (via method 3) you must attend and graduate from a board approved practical nursing program. This is stated on the BVNPT website. Most PN programs are 10-12 months full time or 18-24 months part time/weekend. Only 3 states (including CA) permit certain military medics to challenge the NCLEX-PN. No state other than CA has an 5- year paid experience plus pharmacology class option to challenge the NCLEX-PN, and such this LVN is not endorsable to any other state

What program would you be doing again? Method 3 does not require classroom education and clinical other than the 54-hour pharmacology class. The other 49 states do not feel that CNA experience is equivalent to classroom & clinical training for LPN.
