Challenge NCLEX-PN in California via Method 3
Hello, I've been asked by my Nurse colleagues to challenge the boards because of my 33 plus experience as CNA, can you please give me the information for obtaining the right 54 hour Pharmacology course that's available online and if it needs to be accredited? Please send it to my email: [email protected]

When do going back to school STOP!!
I have a burning question that have been on my mind for a while now. I have been in the Medical field for over 28 years, and I must say it have been very challenging. I have notice that Nursing is the only career that requires a educational move than a promotional move. I'm thinking this is not always good, CNA's have to go back to school, LVN's to become RN's, RN's back to school to become Nurse Practitioners and if you want to specialize into anything, you have to go back to school to for that position. To become a midwife requires more education, a Nurse anesthetist requires more education; it's non ending to just wanting a career. On top of that, keeping up CEU's and other necessary requirements.. When does this stop? What ever happen to just getting regular promotions within a job, instead of going back to school??

Online Programs
Question? I am here in Cali. and I am thinking of doing the method 3, (that's challenging the boards from cna to lvn), but the only thing is, it's not transferable to other states. I wouldn't mind doing the method 3 here if only I would be able to sit for the out of state exams only. I wouldn't mind re-taking the exam, just not doing the program all over again. Is this possible? Thank you once again;)

Who looks out for them?!
There's lots of jobs out there you don't need a degree for, that pays well..such as punching a ticket, lifting a bag, that pays better than a CNA and some RN jobs.

Who looks out for them?!
It's sad when people in the health field have to leave it, just for the pay. Met a CNA of 20 years hard worker(making 13.20), who just was offer a job for Amtrak, I ask her the reason for that, and she said, they offered her more money to start. Also met one who took a job at the Airport, which was paying more than her giving care to someone's love one. Who's looking out for the CNA's? When will their increase go up? SAD:no: Thank for all those who responds.

CNA/LVN Method 3 License Transfer
Hello everyone and Happy New year; I understand most states doesn't accept a method 3 license;my question today is, if I was to move to another state, will I have the opportunity to sit to take that state LVN exam? If no one knows what a method three license is, I will explain: I was given the opportunity to challenge the LVN boards due to my long history as a CNA (over 27 years) throughout the hospital. This opportunity is only given in the state of California and I have been working as a LVN for over 5 years, now that I want to move back to the South (Texas), my licence won't be transferred. The reason behind this is, you have to graduate from a accredited school, which in my case I hadn't. I had taken the 54 hr. Pharmacology, LVN refresher course and studied the NCLEX-PN and sat for the exam, passed. Is there another way I can go about getting my license transferred without problems down the road? Thank you all for your responses

The Problem with Nursing
I have been working in this field for more than 27 yrs. and as I continue to work in this field, it discusses me. This field is the only field that pushes folks out of a job. LVn's have to become Rn's, or they don't work; Assoc. RN's have to get their BSN or they don't work; now some jobs are asking for their Nurses to get their Masters. Now I must say this, back in the days RN's who had their BSN degree, were D.O.N or they were in Admin. positions, now they are staff Nurses on the floors, and those that have their Masters are blending in with them, what a joke..and they're not getting paid for the title they hold. I'm from Ga. and the amount of nurses that are coming out of school with their BSN degrees, makes you cry and we say more Nurses, why? Nobody's paying them and they're taking jobs from the LVNs to give to RN's (with BSN) to pass out meds...another joke. There's also lots of Nurses with their Masters, that are unemployed or that's working on the floor, who's making room for them. Working along sides of a Doc. they only need 1, Hospitals only need a few, who's telling these Nurses to go back to get their Master? This is why this field has become a joke..I've seen 27 years of foolishness. SMH

How many LPN's Don't Plan To Pursue the RN Title?
I have over 27 years working in the health field, starting out in a retirement facility, then making my way through the hospital setting, working from E.R, ICU, CCU, PACU, PSYCH, MED SURG, TRIAGE, OB/GYN. ONC.,PEDS.,LD, MOTHER/BABY, NEURO., Sitter ect.... I've worked as a C.N.A PCT 1,2 and 3, Nurse Tech. Psych Tech. mental health worker and Clinical Partner. And I have worked in some of the best hospitals, from Fla, Ga, NY and now Los Angeles. I am in the process of re-locating back to the South and I will be doing the Method 3 (from CNA to LVN). at this point, I could careless with getting a R.N license, and the only reason I'm pursuing my LVN license, is because I get paid very well as a C.N.A, I make 25.00/hr. here in Cali. at Cedars medical center and I don't want to go back down to 11 or 12 bucks in the South. Also thinking of going to Texas, because they pay their LVN's better. I already have a B.A in another study, and I don't plan on going back. I'll also settle for the Nursing home position, if need be.
