Has anyone taken any prenursing courses from Edvantage? I think it is linked to The School of Nursing at University of Rochester, NY. http://www.edvantagehealth.com/courses.cgi is the link.
Do you guys know if nursing schools generally take online coursework for the sciences? If so, what online website recommendations do you have?
Thanks so much! (And congrats to all these posts saying ADMITTED!)

I'm going to be taking the FastTrack Nursing Prerequisites through Edvantage. I think most schools will probably require you to have labs, which these courses do not include, so just be sure to check what your school requires for the pre-requisites.
I will be doing Micro, Psych, and Nutrition this Summer, and then A+P I/II in the Fall. I then plan to apply to the U of Rochester advanced BSN program.
So I'm also interested to hear if others have taken these courses, how was it?

I realize this thread is a bit old, but for the information of anyone who stumbles across it and wishes some information, I'll say what I know. I took the development through the lifespan course through them last summer. I have to say, I'm really unimpressed with their organization and the quality of the course. The book was great and it was super interesting, but essentially the course was just reading the book. What made this so bad though was that the tests were written off of the old edition of the book yet they told you to get the new one and unfortunately they did not match up very well, so on many tests as much as 1/2 of the questions were on statistics or theorists which were not in the book or 'lecture' material provided - really frustrating! The teacher for the class was ok in the end, but took a long time to reply to concerns and often gave really vague explanations.
Once the course was over, I also had issues with their administration - after messing up the process of sending out the transcripts, they made me pay to get expedited shipping out, then proceeded to lose the payment (without informing me of course that they were still waiting on it).
In both cases it took me getting very angry with them for them to hop to and actually fix things, not very impressive. The course was easy though so in that sense it's a good way to get pre-reqs done, just be willing and ready to fight!

This was my EXACT impression of this course. Of the three courses I took (Nutrition, Micro, and Developmental Psy.) this had the potential to be the best, as I also found the book to be very interesting, but the instructor didn't seem to have her act together.

I JUST enrolled in the Micro course and am waiting to get my materials. The program I will be applying to (Duke's ABSN) does NOT require a lab component...just the credits so the Rochester program will work for me.
I think there are pros and cons to the Fast Track program. The most obvious is that you can get the courses done very quickly AND totally at your own pace (no forced logins or set schedules) which really appealed to me. Also the classes while not cheap ($990 each plus text) are about half the price of University of Phoenix. Considering the cost and given that the purpose is to get done FAST I don't have any high expectations about personal attention. I am fine though with just slogging through and getting the credits under my belt.
Would love to hear from any others how this program went for them.
