Hello to everyone applying to UWG's Tanner School of Nursing (TSON). I applied October 1st for the Summer 2018 nursing program. I scored an 88 on the HESI exam, I currently have a 3.8 Nursing GPA and am a licensed CNA.

I look forward to sharing my story and hearing all of yours while we go through the application, acceptance and admissions process. Hopefully, through our postings we can utilize this as a system of support in order to make it through till the end, (graduation).

I was told they accept around 80 to Carrollton and 70 to Newnan. I think they have been accepting more people. Did she mean second week in March like as in next week or the week after that? I am wondering if we will hear the week before spring break. I believe that is when they sent letters out last year.

Maybe they changed it, who knows! Those numbers are the ones the Dean gave during her presentation on Saturday! She said closer to the end of the month, so probably in 2-3 weeks.

Was this the Dean of the Nursing School that said this or the Dean of UWG? I did not even know their was a preview day? I know there is a preview day for people thinking about going to UWG but did not know there was one for the nursing school. I am almost positive they accept more than 32 to the Newnan campus!

The dean of the nursing school. The preview day had an individual information session for the nursing program that included a tour with professors and students.

Wow that's crazy. I really hope that is not true that they are only accepting 32 to Newnan. I do not think they have ever accepted that few.

I am hoping that the Newnan campus admits more than 32 as well.

I talked to one of the current students to see if she thought that was right and she said she thinks the Dean meant 32 is half of their cohort this year. She said they have around 60 in the Newnan program. This could be wrong but I am thinking they accept around 60

Hey everyone!

I applied to the UWG nursing program for Summer 2018. Yesterday I emailed my nursing advisor about a different question and she told me that I had opened the application but the questions were blank and therefore my application would be deleted because "many students open the application but end up never filling out the questions. Im freaking out!! I'm 100% positive I answered all the questions when I submitted my application. She said that she could probably rectify it after getting it approved but still. I responded to her but I have not heard back from her yet. Idk what do, has anyone else experienced anything like this?

No, I have not, but I am certain my application was accepted because I received an email on Feb 7 from the school of nursing regarding the next steps after application. Did you receive an email with the subject: Summer 2018 BSN Application Update?

I dont't believe I did, not on my personal email or my UWG email. I wasn't expecting to receive and email because if you look on the website under the admission process and requirements, it says that we wouldn't receive a confirmation email or anything like that.

Hey dconleyg, What steps did it talk about? I got that email on February 7th but all mine was was telling me I was receiving this email because I applied for the Summer 2018 BSN program and to keep checking my student email because that would be the email that they would send anything concerning my application or admission decision. And it had the date of BSN orientation and the dates of nursing summer classes on it.
