Nursing Students School Programs

Hello all,

I am applied to the MSN-DNP AGACNP (Online Program) and I am awaiting a response at the end of February or Mid-March. Anyone else apply (BSN-DNP/MSN-DNP)? What is your speciality? Hoping I get in (fingers crossed).

Larry

LesBSNRN,

That wonderful to hear and congratulations on your acceptance as well! The real work begins at RISE.

Larry

Hi Larry! Yes, I did receive a confirmation of recommendation to the graduate college! So excited to meet you all at RISE!

Hello Natalie,

That is awesome and congratulations! RISE will be here before you know it.

Hi everyone-

Has anyone NOT received the recommendation from graduate college yet?? Or am I the only one? I know they sent out an email saying don't worry about the checklist timeline, due to the fact that they have a lot of applications to work through. I'm getting a bit impatient.

(I was accepted into the FNP specialty).

Hi OncNurse261,

It sounds like you have been recommended but are waiting for your final acceptance from the Graduate College. I know they had mentioned the Graduate College was still in the process of reviewing applications for final admission since there were so many applicants. So don't panic. You should contact their office via phone and/or email to double check on your application. I bet you'll be hearing from them soon!!

Hi there!

I am looking to apply to the 2019 DNP PNP program. Can any of you give insight to how your program is going so far? I see we need to pick our own clinical preceptors (for online version) which makes me nervous. ANY feedback would be appreciated!

Thank you,

Jen Merchant

MNKGA1315 (Larry),

That is what I was thinking and hoping it meant but I kept rethinking it... which is probably never a good thing to do lol. Thanks so much. I feel like I can sleep very well tonight. BTW- I applied for the BSN-DNP FNP speciality! I am so excited for you all! Once again, thanks so much for the clarification and relief lol. ?

Did you ever get in? How is it going for you?

Merchantj90 - Did you end up applying to the University of Arizona DNP? I found out I got in. If you did too, would love to connect!

Hi stepbystep12,

Yes! It is my 2nd semester in the program. I mean, it is just the beginning so I am not taking courses pertained to my speciality yet. It is more didactic courses but some of them have been tough. However, it is manageable. I was full-time but transitioned to PT this semester so I can keep working full-time. It has been a great balance thus far. However, starting the 3rd year, PT students will transition to FT schedule while attending clinical so that’s when you really need to cut back work hours drastically or stop working!

Merchant90j90, yes it is unfortunate but we have to find our own sites and send them the info 1 year in advance prior to clinical starting. If I were you, I would start networking and contacting literally anyone you know. I live in San Diego so it has been quite tough since I moved back right when I started the program. But do not let this be an obstacle. You have plenty of time if you start now!

Emer-jen-cy, congratulations on getting accepted! That is very exciting news ?

Hi emer-jen-cy,

Did you get the official admission letter from the graduate school?

Specializes in PCU, M-S, ER, OPD, Dental nurse, etc..

Hi everyone,

I hope you don't mind me dropping all sorts of questions regarding the same topic posted here. I am thinking of starting the DNP path as well and I feel like you guys are the best people to ask about this questions. If any of you dont mind answering some questions, I will greatly appreciate it.

Im interested to know whether any of you have started clinical sites/preceptorship yet, have found a site or looking into it? Are you doing the online or campus? Are you from AZ? Can you recommend a place for clinical sites that I can possibly look into and applying?

Do your best and good luck to everyone. Thank you so much.
