Question about BMCC Nursing Program Day Schedule

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

just a little background: I'm currently taking my pre-reqs at BMCC (Borough of Manhattan Community College) to get into the Nursing program. I work full time during the day, 5 days a week, so I am attending school on a part-time basis. I started school in Spring 2018 and I took ENG 101 and MATH 104, so far. For the Summer semester I am taking CHEM 121 (lectures will be online and labs will be in person) so that I can take BIO 425 (lectures online, labs in person) in the Fall. I will also be taking PSY 100 (online) and possibly SOC 100 (online), as well.

Ok, now to my question: For any of you that are currently in the Nursing program at BMCC or have already been through it, what is the weekly schedule for the DAY program? like, do you meet up every day or only on certain days, what time, and also for how many hours each day? I tried finding this information on the BMCC website, but no luck. The only reason why I ask is because if there's a possibility that the DAY program works for me over the EVENING program schedule then I'll do that, even if I have to change a day or two on my work schedule.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello there!

I am currently a 4th semester nursing student at BMCC and have been in the day program since I started. Addressing each of your questions below;

what is the weekly schedule for the DAY program? like, do you meet up every day or only on certain days, what time, and also for how many hours each day?

You will have both lecture and clinicals which you are required to attend. Your lecture hours will be Monday and Tuesday 9am-12:45pm and clinical will be at a hospital in either Manhattan, the Bronx or Brooklyn on Thursday from 8am-4pm.

That is the required schedule however be prepared to study a lot, and I mean a lot. I would often find myself in the library right after lecture with my study group preparing for the next day and reviewing the lecture we just covered. However you can make that study time flexible to your work schedule. The only required hours you must be in school are the hours mentioned above. Hope that helps!
