Lone Star Fall 2017 ADN Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has started a post on Fall 2017 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls... & If not then let's get this one going!

Hello everyone!

It's my first time posting and I have a few questions. How long is the program for basic track if you have completed all the

classes except the nursing ones. Since I'm applying to other schools like TWU,UTH,UTMB I've pretty much completed a lot of classes.

2nd, I already emailed the ADN department (they havent answered back) but I took my HESI for UTH & was wondering if i could use those scores & where do i send them. Made an overall 90.4%/ 84% in the science portion/910 critical thinking. 3rd, I have found out that the other schools are very competitive even if you have good scores your chances are low so for the ADN cyfair how competitive is it from previous cycles if anyone knows. Thank you all!

@varango02 I studied fundamentals of nursing & I made a 910 in critical thinking (I also had 10 minutes left by the time i was in this section so i was flying through it lol!)

ok wonderful! That means I am on the right track!! I just ordered it to read it since I have about a month to review!

Hello everyone! This is my first post to the group. I am applying for the North Harris ADN program to start in Fall of this year. I have an A in Eng 1301 and B in AP 1 and 2. I made an 87% overall on the HESI with an 880 score in critical thinking. My final points come out to 6.9166. I was told before you need 7 out of the 8 points to get in, but after reading the previous threads, it really all depends on how many people apply. I am so nervous but have no time to retake the HESI so I am going to go ahead and apply! Good luck to you all!!

Hi everyone! This is my first post also. I have submitted my application for Fall ADN. My first choice is Montgomery campus. I have an A in English and an A in A&P. I scored 92.8% on all sections and got a 920 in critical thinking, making my overall score a 7.712. It's going to be a long wait until the letters come out in April! Good luck everyone!

Hey @Liz.B20217 do you have any advice for the critical thinking section????

I used the Admission Assessment Exam Review book by Elsevier. I can't remember if there is a specific critical thinking section but I did all of the practice questions and practice tests in the book along with the HESI A2 Pocket Prep app. From what I experienced, there are really no wrong answers on the critical thinking section, but you have to choose the best of the choices. So just really think through the questions and what makes the most sense for the situation given.

ok thank you! That is the only section I am worried about. I took the Hesi for another school and scored a 90% but the critical thinking section was not an option. Sadly, I am retaking the exam next week so I pray I get the same score and a wonderful score for the critical thinking. I am applying to the Cypress location.

You're welcome! Good luck!

Is there anyone trying to do the LVN to RN program that starts in summer 2017?

@Liz you have nothing to worry about! That is a awesome score and I'm sure you will get in! Having a B in anatomy has really messed my final score up! Now I'm on the line and will be stressing the next few months í ½í¸©

Don't stress YvetteT. You got this! We will all get in!
